“With diabetes rates rising, we actually have an evidence-based program that we know prevents diabetes. It's the DPP.”

“I always refer my patients to DSMES. It really makes a difference and teaches them lifestyle changes that last forever.”

Strong Evidence Base for Diabetes Prevention Programs

Evidence of the National DPP lifestyle change program’s efficacy is based in the DPP Clinical Trial, a randomized clinical trial with 10-year and 15-year follow up data trial. Follow-up studies and international studies have spanned different implementation types and settings to confirm the effectiveness of this intervention in preventing or delaying type 2 diabetes.
